Did I miss the part of the party with sticky confetti? Because I keep trying to throw this little red piece away and it always manages to cling to my finger or pants or something so I can't. Thought it was time for a new lighter cuz the confetti piece wouldn't burn, but my cigs all light fine, so I dunno what's up.

On that note - thanks for my birthday present, bro. Should last me... awhile. Do I get to keep the bag? Did you make it?

[Smoke shows up with the rappig on a leash after work. He's careful to look for something slightly different than Amurui's old shelter, but in roughly the same location.]

[Amurui's hovel was not exactly impressive, but it served its purpose. The smoke from the fire made it easy to find, though, and the boy was cooking fish and boiling potatoes.]

[He tied Suzy to a nearby tree, then came back and sat down on a rock around the fire.]

Smell's great. Haven't had a hot meal in awhile.

[He got up and brought a bowl over to Suzy, full of potato peels. After scratching behind the rappigs ears, he returned to the fire and picked off the grilled fish. Checking the potatoes, he then took the pot off the fire as well and fished out the potatoes with a spoon.

Placing the food on two equal plates, he then added some cooked turnips and carrots, as well as a thick, creamy sauce made from mashed corn and garlic. Very simple stuff, but delicious.]

Have two forks now.

[Smoke laughed fondly at the declaration. Coming from anyone else, that would've sounded weird, but coming from Amurui it meant a lot. He took a whiff of the meal and held out a hand to accept a fork before diving in.]

Two forks means we can both eat easier, huh? [He grinned] Wanna' make this a weekly thing?

[It was an easy excuse with a deeper reason. Aniki's loud presence in the apartment had been something Smoke welcomed after awhile, but now it was silent except for Suzy. That combined with the feeling of growing closer to Amurui even as his bond with Aniki broke meant that Smoke wanted to see his brother more often, just for something as simple as dinner. It was something Amurui clearly enjoyed and it was good food, so not like Smoke could complain.]

[Amurui smiled a little at that and then turned his attention to the food. He could make Smoke food every single day if he wanted him to, but he didn't voice that thought. (Like most of his thoughts.)]

Need take Suzy while work?

[Smoke looked back over at Suzy.] Nah - he's used to being in a room all day by this point. I try to walk him before and after work, though...

[He shrugged a little and ate his food in silence. It felt so nice to just sit here with Smoke. To the boy, brotherhood didn't have to be more than this; he knew that Smoke was there and that they cared for each other. They didn't have to hang out all the time or always do things together.

Their bond was strong. Strong enough to bring his brother back after he disappeared, or so Amurui believed.]
