Here's a tip for all you new kids - don't ever leave your journal behind. Ever ever. Or you may get lost in the Wilderness alone for 3 weeks (or more!) with no way to ask for help and no way out.
And if you do, then all you can do is hope the Adventurers do their job - and they do; try thanking 'em sometime - 'cuz it'll have to be one of them who drags your sorry ass back out of there.

Date: 2011-05-02 04:50 pm (UTC)Honestly, the other stuff she said was actually worse. All that time I spent as a kid? Guess I kinda dealt with kid stuff already, but the rest of it... [He rubs the nape of his neck now with the same hand.]
She basically said I was wrong - how I've been acting for two years, trying to figure out how you just deal with this place... Pretty much ever since I found out my old name - [He never calls it his 'real' name] - I haven't used it, because hell if I know what that guy was like or who all of his friends were. I still don't even know if that's what Mom looks like! I've only ever heard her voice in my memories.
[He looks like he could say a lot more on the subject, but just closes his mouth and looks down at the table, hands folded up and his forehead resting on it.]
Gojyo's whole life was lost to me at one point, but now I'm starting to forget people here too. Have I really been wrong this whole time, to not use Gojyo's name?

I met someone in the Wilderness who frightened me a lot, too. I'm still not sure who he is, but he... said it'd be only a matter of time before I went over to his side. That I was going to turn against my friends.
Whatever is down there right now, it can get inside your head. It makes you see things that make you doubt yourself.

And I'd rather focus on what's up here, you know. The part that's real, and... not the Wilderness. I suppose it's real in some way, but sometimes I'd rather not think about it.

Things are actually working out even if someone can't come in. And that happens a lot.
