[Hakkai finishes drying his hands, having just finished washes the dishes, and smiles at his friend.]

I had some chores to tend to this morning but I wanted you to have your gift as soon as possible. [Clearly the answer was to sneak into his bedroom while he was still asleep and leave the gift.]

Do you think so? I've always thought my interests quite apparent. If not as much as yours and Sanzo's. [In his tone is a hint of teasing.]
