#35 - Racetrack and Animals whut?

Okay so I meant to ask this yesterday but I completely forgot.

On Sunday I was out at Melee Island and I saw a couple of WEIRD critters there. I mean, yeah they had horses and wolves...
[[drawings]]

And then there's these really weird things. Two look kinda like birds...
[[more scribbly drawings]]

And then... I have no freaking clue what this one is, but it KINDA looks like this...
[[yes this is a rhino, but he means a kodo -- and pretend there's no baby there]]

Anybody got an idea of what these last three are?

And by the way newborns - I can't believe I totally forgot about this - we have a racetrack! So apparently you race these creatures around it! It sounds like a lot of fun... and a gambling opportunity, too! ;D

[[OOC: A minor note, yes Smoke was taught a few emoticons way back when]]

I believe the bird is called a chocobo. Flightless, good for mounts.

...Although maybe not that particular one.

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Chocobo? That sounds like a candy more than a bird.

He is going to politely refrain from saying anything about the drawings.

Wolves you can ride on, huh? But what the heck are those other things? Sure they're not monsters or something?

[identity profile] heretic-hamlet.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And fine mounts they make, though they're aught but tame in the wild; I'd be on your guard should you cross paths with them again.

...Do you remember their colors?

[identity profile] mythgravenblade.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Candy?

[identity profile] desig-survivor.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
A racetrack, huh?

...Did you see anything that can fly?

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I think mainly yellow, but there were a bunch of types. Uh... red, black, green, blue, and shinier yellow ones too.

... And what are they gonna do, squawk me to death?

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah - chocolate?

Haha Smoke knows he sucks at drawing! XD

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah horses & wolves are normal for where I come from. Maybe the other three are monsters tho.

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I think some of these bird-things can fly.

[identity profile] mythgravenblade.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that. I think they're pronounced differently, though.

[identity profile] desig-survivor.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Great! It's going to be a job and a half finding out how to ride them, I'm sure. This should be interesting.

[he's suddenly much more cheerful - Rogue loves flying.]

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[I gathered XD]

You think you know how to fly one of these things, dude? I mean used to anyway.

Ch... co... Sound similar to me.

[identity profile] brushismightier.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just thinking it would be nice to have a wolf to ride on...

[identity profile] brushismightier.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
But I sure as heck wouldn't go near those other things! Horses are alright, although they smell kind of strange. That freaky thing with the horn though, that one is definitely some kinda monster.

[identity profile] inthecenterfold.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure I could fit on a wolf myself, but if you think you could... I mean why not?

You don't recognize that last one either, huh? Yeah it's a little freaky.

[identity profile] mythgravenblade.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose if one is primarily familiar with the candy, they would.

[identity profile] brushismightier.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you should diet a little, huh?

Who would recognize that!?

shameless threadjacking

[identity profile] mythgravenblade.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Aught but tame? I don't get such an impression from them.

[identity profile] desig-survivor.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[When it's been too long without flight and he gets in the air again, he canonically gets a little... silly.]

Not animals. I think - maybe I've ridden something before, or I've seen people doing it, since I'm picturing the tack you'd need for these things, but I'm pretty sure it or they couldn't fly.

[identity profile] heretic-hamlet.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
The beaks are hardly for show; and they're not without their [Pause.] Talents.

Be especially wary of the ones colored red or black.

[identity profile] heretic-hamlet.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
As far from time as they are from a songbird. A cat or dog may serve its master well but a bobcat or mongrel has no need or want for one.

[identity profile] mythgravenblade.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Very odd. I could swear they were docile as a lamb, if rather flighty.

[identity profile] heretic-hamlet.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
They are- once broken. Have you not crossed paths with them in the wild?
